After a refreshing and much needed vacation in Germany it’s back to working hard on my journal again, starting with my December theme. Since I also have a new yearly set up waiting, and have to make a January theme soon as well, I chose to keep it relatively simple this month.

So for the most festive month of the year I chose to go with glittery blue paper, gold tape and stickers to create a very wintery vibe in royal colours.

Even the strongest blizzards start with a single snowflake

What I like about this quote from Sara Raasch‘ book “Snow like Ashes” is that it reminds me that small actions matter. Those that know me know that I have been dealing with a crazy streak of challenges for the past seven or so years. What has gotten me through those was just putting one foot in front of the other each day and this quote reminds me that persisting with small steps can take you anywhere.

Aside from the colours and the obvious snowflakes, the theme of this month is ‘diagonal’, which turned out pretty much the way I wanted it to. I accented this spread with crafted little coniferous trees, made with tape, gold paper and markers.

When I first created these kitschy habit trackers I honestly wasn’t sure I was feeling them at all, but they grew on me and now I think they’re really cute. It’s unfortunate that one of the calendar stamps smudged a little bit, but if you can’t forgive your own mistakes, then how can you expect anyone else to? 😉

I only bought the snowflake stickers when my theme was already halfway done and I really love them. They fit so well, I really think they’re perfect for this theme. What a lucky find!

You may have noticed that this month began on the 2nd and that it’s ending on the 29th. I’ve decided to stop messing around with fitting in broken up weeks and to just bring the remaining days into the adjecent month. So I guess that 30 and 31 December will be a part of January.

I’m happy to get this done and I am so excited to start working on my new journal. I can’t wait to introduce it to you, I hope you’ll love it as much as I do. Let me know in a comment below what you like most about this theme, or what you’re really not vibing with. See you soon!
